Write for us
We welcome considered pitches about rugby's culture, customs, kit, club life and ways of taking part. Contributions should give readers a clear idea to think about or use, without relying on access, expertise or claims the writer cannot support.
What makes a good pitch
Send a focused proposal with a working title, the central question or idea, the intended reader and a brief note on what the piece will add. A strong pitch has a distinct angle, a sensible scope and a clear reason it suits Emerald Rugby Journal. Practical pieces should stay within safe everyday choices and avoid advice that depends on local rules or professional judgement.
What we welcome
We are interested in fresh approaches to rugby traditions, club routines, the life of kit, match-day habits, rugby history and participation. Personal perspective can be useful when clearly presented as experience, not proof that one person's way is universal. We do not welcome copied work, unsupported claims or pitches built around a product endorsement.
How to send a proposal
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial option. Please include enough detail to assess the idea; an unsolicited full draft is not necessary. A submission is not a promise of publication, and any terms or editing would be discussed before a piece is accepted.
Rugby belongs to everyone who makes room for it
The game is shaped by more than the action on the pitch. Its kit, customs and shared work deserve a closer look.
